Essence Very Berry

Essence Very Berry is a pinkish berry color from the Jelly Baby collection that came out in March/April 2009. It looks more pink in the first photo but in indoor light it looks more berry. It is a really nice, bright and vivid color. I'm not fussed on jelly formulas and this was no exception. You have to work fast, not because it dries quickly but because it gets tacky quickly. One coat looks nice, but 2 coats makes the colour opaque. It took a little while to dry.

Excuses, excuses + rambles...

Hello again!

It seems like ages since I posted last.. Well it has been over a week :(

I'm so sorry I've been MIA. I have 1 valid reason and one, well, not so valid reason.

1. My laptop has been down for a few days so I couldn't get online to post.

2. School. When people use school as an excuse for not doing something, people often think 'homework, detention, extra curricular activities, bed early...' but unfortunately, none of these are for me. My excuse is... biting my nails. I am really angry and annoyed at my self for sinking this low. Throughout the summer holidays, I didn't bite my nails once. Not once. Now, my 3rd week back in school and I have bitten most of my nails. Not all the way to the quick, but theyr'e not the length they were. I was so happy with them before too. I knew there was still a little way to go before they were my 'dream length' but they were getting there slowly and now I'm back to the beginning :'( I felt embarrassed to show them to you guys but I am setting myself a goal. Not to bite my nails. Ever. I really need to MENTALLY STOP MYSELF!

On the plus side I have got one of my most wanted polishes.. Chanel Black Satin! I have always loved black polish so this was a must for me. Last week I finally got it. I know it's a few years old now but I think of this one as a NP collectors item, a colletion completer, a must for any fantic. I have been wearing it this week and swatches will come in the next few days (hopefully tomorrow).

I think that's it! Hopefully I didn't bore you too much. I promise that posts will be back to normal and I wanted to say thanks to my new followers!

Primark - Teal Or No Teal

Hey girls!

When I picked up this polish from Primark, to be honest I wasn't expecting much. The Glo Baby Glo polishes are only £2 after all. This colour jumped out at me first because I love teals. The teal from the collection is in Teal Or No Teal.

I absolutley LOVED it! Formula was easy, streak free and flowed onto my nail perfectly. I only used 1 coat and the colour is very vibrant and glossy. The first picture is true to colour while the second picture is too dark.

I'm going to get some more Primark polishes because I liked them so much. I'd recommend you guys checking them out too!

Have you tried any Pri polishes? What do you think?

Collection 2000 - BMX Bandit (32)

So I have another Collection 2000 polish today. It's BMX Bandit (32), a medium blue. It reminds me of the shade French Blue from the colour chart below. The third swatch picture is more true to the real colour.

The formula was okay I suppose. There were a few bubbles and it was a bit too thick but the good thing was there was no streaks. I used two coats but one would have been enough. Something I didn't like about this though was that it chipped in UNDER 1 DAY! That's pathetic.

In a haul from a while ago, I bought a matte topcoat from Claire's Cosmetics Accessories. I've been meaning to use it for the longest time and I just forgot so I finally got round to applying it.

It was easy to apply but I'm a bit disappointed. It wasn't completely matt, just 'semi matt'. I really felt like rocking real matt nails so I'm going to have to take a look at what other topcoats I can used to get the look.

New E.L.F Autumn Collection & matte finisher!

Today, E.L.F cosmetics UK released there Autumn collection. The collection had 4 polish shades. All polishes are around a 'red' theme and they are very pretty for this time of year. This collection has been released in the US already but it's new to us UK girls!

Purple Pleaser- Some definite red undertones, making it more of a warm plum cream.

Rosy Raisin - Dark, deep red, slightly brown.

Red Velvet - Crimson with silver shimmer.

Cranberry - Dark red metallic.

Matte Finisher.

I'm really wanting to try Red Velvet, Cranberry and the matte top coat.

These polishes are only £1.50/$1 each which is amazing!

Are you going to be looking into anything?

Nails Inc - New York

Hey girls!

I got this polish a little while ago when a free bottle of limited edition Nails Inc polish was being given away when you baught 2 bottles of Diet Coke. This one is a hot hot pink in New York. I absolutley adore the colour. Pink is my signature nail colour, weather it's bubble gum pink or hot pink, I love them!

The formula was a dream, so easy to apply and it only needed one coat. It only lasted a day before chipping though wich is a shame.

I'm regretting not getting the full collection of limited polsihes from the offer because they are so good!

Girly bow & spots nail design

Hey :D

Bows are really in fashion at the moment so I wanted to go with the theme and do a bow nail design!

I used 3 coats of Revlon's Sheer Mauve as a base on every nail then using my Rio Nail Art pen in black, I drew a bow on each of my left hand's nails. I attempted to do bows on my right hand too and it didn't work out too well so I did black polka dots instead.

It's the first time I have ever attempted to draw a bow, let alone draw small ones with black polish on my nails! There not perfect by any means but I wanted to show you guys anyway.

No7 Stay Perfect - Damson Dream

Today's polish is another one from the No7 Stay Perfect range in Damson Dream. In some lights it looks a very very deep fuchsia, in others it seems red and sometimes violet, it wont make up it's mind! Formula on this one was OK. It was quite hard to work with and there was some cuticle pull. It dried fast though and looks gorgeous in the sunlight, very sparkly! This isn't a colour I would usually go for so I'm surprised I like it as much as i do.

I'm going to be buying some more red polishes soon because the past few days I've really been wanting to wear a red polish which is unusual for me!

No7 Stay Perfect - Totally Teal

Today's mani is No7 Stay Perfect in Totally Teal (115). A true, bright, deep teal colour. I saw polish similar in a magazine a few days ago and since then I have wanted to pull out my teals and rock one. I chose this one because I haven't worn it in a long while. You can pick up these polishes at Boots for £6.75 each. With the return of the £5 off vouchers Boots are giving out at the moment you will be able to get these polishes for just £1.75!

The formula was okay. You have to work fast, not because the polish dries quickly but because it gets tacky quickly so it can pull a bit. It does 'stay perfect' like the bottle says. I used 2 coats as just one coat made a few little streaks.

Last time Boots gave out the £5 vouchers I bought so many of these polishes so be expecting to see more swatches soon!

H&M - Wicked Purple

Hey gurlies!

So a while ago H&M nail polishes were mega hyped on both blogs and Youtube. I was very late juming on the bandwagon but when I saw this polish in H&M, it just jumped out at me. The bottle is so unique. A wierd shaped bottom with a huge black pointed brush! It was £2.99 and from the Hello Kitty cosmetic range.

I loved the formula, it was perfect and it only needed one coat for it to be fully opaque. I also loved the high gloss finish of this polish. The only think I didn't like though was that big chips happened in under 24 hours wich is bad.

I hope this is a one off because theres some colours I love from the regular H&M range.

Essie - Mint Candy Apple

Before I show you some swatches, I want to thank you all so much for getting me to 50 followers! I know that is not very many followers compared to other nail blogs but I am so happy! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Today's polish is Essie's Mint Candy Apple. I have loved mint greens for the longest time and this one has to be my favourite. It's slightly more blue than any other mint greens I own. A bright creme that is easy to apply. It was quite streaky on the first coat but another coat of polish plus a top coat evened it out fine and made it opaque.

I think this colour is really pretty for fall and in the winter time I would love to pare this colour under a dark blue or silver glitter. That would look super cute!

Sinful Colours - This Is It

I really love this polish. It reminds me of Christmas time and I'm going to be wearing a lot during Fall/Winter. I picked it up at Walgreen's in Florida for only $1.99. It's by Sinful Colours in shade This Is It. A beautiful bright gold with very small blue and silver shimmer.

I used 3 coats because with 2 coats there was still a VNL. I adored the formula. Applied easily and dried reasonably fast. The Sinful Colours bottle reminds me of the China Glaze bottles, there not exact but defiantly similar. The brush was long and easy to work with.

If you haven't already tried Sinful Colours, I defiantly recommend you picking a bottle of polish up because they are one of my favourite brands!

Rimmel London - Twinkle (640)

Hey :D

This polish is from the Rimmel London 60 Seconds line in shade 640 Twinkle. A light lilac on the line of light pink with fine silver sparkles. The polish does dry quickly but the sparkles makes the finish kinda bumpy and lumpy. I loved the formula, smooth and easy to apply. I used 2 coats. The brushes from the Rimmel polishes are my favourite, there quite long and precise. The colour is pretty but it's just not for me, I'm not fussed.

ELF cosmetics review

ELF has been a brand I've been really looking forward to trying. The regular line costs only £1.50, there studio line products start at £3.50 and there mineral line starts at £3. Great for people on a budget! I had a voucher for £1 delivery but the normal delivery charge is £2.95 or free on orders over £30. I wanted to review the products that I bought...

Plumping Lip Glaze - Fuchsia Fanatic - £1.50

This was the colour that jumped out at me when I first looked through the colours. A bright fuchsia colour with slight shimmer. I don't think it exactly plumps your lips much but it defiantly moisturises them and makes them look and feel much smoother. You apply the lightest/frosty gloss first then apply the colour over the top. My lips tingles like mad when the first gloss was applied! Tingling lasts around 20/25 minutes and the colour isn't very long lasting.

All Over Colour Stick - Persimmon - £1.50

A sheeny light pink/peach 3 in 1 colour for your eyes, face and lips. I use this on my cheeks and it gives a natural, dewy glow that I absolutely love. This lasts all day and looks great with a tan! I don't think this would particularly work well on your lips because the formula isn't like a lip stain/tint, isn't glossy enough for a gloss or smooth enough for a lipstick. I do like the packaging on this, cute and compact.

Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder - Warm Tan - £1.50

I applied this very lightly all over my face using my ELF Total Face Brush (that I love btw!). I'm not very impressed with this bronzer. This is very shimmery and I prefer my bronzers to be matte. Has a silky, soft texture which feels nice but just looks cakey on your face. The worst problem with this is all the dust. As soon as the brush meets the top of the powder, dust starts appearing from no where. Not good.

Shimmering Facial Whip - Spotlight - £1.50

My favourite product out of everything that I bought. Spotlight is a frosty white that I thought would be great at a cheek highlight. I use it on my cheekbones before I apply blush and it gives a gorgeous frosty highlight that really lifts your face. I’m defiantly going to be repurchasing this!

Corrective Concealer – Studio Line - £3.50

I love the packaging. A compact palette that comes with a built in mirror, mini concealer brush and 4 colour of concealer. A light skin tone, green, light pink, and medium skin tone. Use the skin tone colours to conceal problematic areas. Use the green shade to neutralize redness like that of acne and the pink shade to brighten yellow tones. I use my fingers to apply the concealers because the brush is just ridiculously tiny. It’s not the best concealer I’ve used and it’s not the worst either.

Favourite product: Shimmering Facial Whip in Spotlight.

Worst product: Healthy Bronzing Powder in Warm Tan.

I haven’t used the nail polish yet but when I do use it, I’ll post swatches then. I placed the order Sunday afternoon and I received the products Tuesday morning so very fast delivery. Products came in a brown cardboard box, wrapped in bubble wrap. Well packaged. I would defiantly order from ELF again! Hope you liked the review and let me know what your favourite ELF products are. Essence Glam Rock - Gothic Girl

This is the 2nd and final polish I got from the Essence Glam Rock collection that came out in November/December 2008. It's a black holographic called Gothic Girl. I did a review/swatches on the other polish I got from the collection called Metal Babe and you can see that here.

The formula again on this one was fantastic. I only needed 1 coat to make it opaque and it looks gorgeous on! Metal Babe lasted 3-4 days but Gothic Girl only lasted 1 day which is kinda disappointing. I like this polish but I don't think its one of my favourites.

Collection 2000 - Wham with Claire's Cosmetics pink glitter

I've been after a grey polish for a while now. There's something about grey polishes that I love even though greys can be quite a dull colour. I picked up this Collection 2000 Hot Looks polish a few days ago in shade Wham (27). I was a bit disappointed in the formula of this one. It was runny and watery, Wham was also streaky. I used 3 coats and there are still visible brush lines if you look closely. The worst thing with this polish was all the bubbles. There were so many!

The only thing I do like about this polish and the rest of the ones from the Hot Looks range is there drying time. They dry within 40 seconds at the most.

Once the 3 coats were applied and it all dried properly I just wasn't impressed so I pulled out a glitter polish by Claire's Cosmetics that I bought the day before. A Barbie pink colour with fine silver glitter. I applied it over the top of the grey and I just think it made the mani look more girly. I did love the glitter polish and I'm going to go back there to pick up the bright turquoise glitter that first jumped out at me.

This mani lasted me less than a day before I got fed up of the grey and took it off. What do you guys think?

Urban Decay - Cult

Hey :)

So this polish is an old one from Urban Decay's discontinued line and it's in Cult. Cult's a beautiful deep turquoise green foil that reflects gold under certain lighting's. It doesn't leave you with any brush strokes and application is just perfect. Glides on very easily, no pulling, no streaks, no patches. Formula is also great. Not too thick, not too thin, just right. The brush is quite long and when I saw it I thought it might be quite hard to control but it wasn't. I used 2 coats and a topcoat and I love the way it came out. Another favourite of mine!!

I'm going to check out some other polishes Urban Decay has to offer!

Claires Cosmetics - Rocker Blue

Hey girls :)

I was really looking forward to wearing Rocker Blue by Claire's Accessories Cosmetics. The colour is so beautiful. A deep metallic electric blue. There's a problem.. The formula of this one is horrible! It was a total streak fest, cuticle pull, patches and it was hard to work with.

One coat was just horrible. After 2 coats it wasn't much better. 3 coats evened the colour out an covered up any patches. I used 4 coats and I thought it was opaque but I was wrong. I waited twenty minutes before applying a top coat and I made sure the polish was completely dry. So as I was applying my top coat patches just started appearing out of no where. Wasn't good :(

Because the colour is one of the prettiest metallic polishes I have seen, it's such a shame that the application is so bad.

Katy Perry inspired leopard nails!

I have always loved Katy Perry's music. She's one of my biggest inspirations. Katy is knows for her quirky fashion sense, crazy outfits and she always has gorgeous nails! From diamond encrusted to China Glaze's Yellow Polka Dot Bikini or even sushi, Katy always has perfectly manicured nails.

I came across a photo last night of Katy rocking a neutral nail with red and black leopard print. I loved this look and I decided to give it a try!

Here's what I came up with...

I used 3 coats of a really pretty, neutral French beige colour. It had slight shimmer in so that made it look even prettier in my opinion!

I used a bright red by Barry M to create dots/blobs in random places on my nails then using my Rio Nail Art Pen in black, I went around the red blobs not being neat, using 'C' shapes.

That's it! Once the design was completely dry I applied 2 coats of a top coat to make sure the mani stayed perfect.

I'm going to do some more research to see what other designs Katy Perry has been wearing and try and give them a go too! Hope you all like!

Essence Glam Rock - Metal Babe

I'm in love! I've been after a holographic polish for some time now and when I bought this polish from a makeup outlet store a few days ago, I had no idea it was holographic so when I applied it I was so excited. The amount of times I picked up GOSH Holographic from Super Drug and put it back down at the last minute is unbelievable but I don't think I'm going to be getting it now because I have this.

It's from the Essence Glam Rock collection that came out in November/December 2008. I know the collection is like super old but I thought you might like to see swatches anyway. I got 2 out of the 3 polishes from the collection and the one I wore for my last mani was in Metal Babe.

One coat is very sheer so I used 3 coats. Very good application and formula. Lasted 3 days without any chipping or tip wear so I'm very impressed!

Looks absolutely gorgeous for parties and reminds me of Christmas time. In direct light it is super glittery and shiny, PRETTY! Defiantly one of my favourite polishes and expect to see this in my favourites for this month.

Rimmel London - 420 Sunrise

Hey guys :)

This polish is from the Rimmel London 60 Seconds collection and it's in shade 420 Sunrise. A beautiful bright peach with blue glitter speckles. It really reminds me of a sunset, very pretty!

Very good application. Smooth, sleek and not too thick. One coat produced a few patches but 2 coats evened it out fine. Once dry I applied one coat of topcoat but still the mani lasted just over 1 day before a lot of tip wear started happening. Another problem I found with this is it dents very easily. I don't know if that's the right way to phrase what I'm trying to say lol but the polish creates little lines here and there on my nail that looks like dents.

It's a bit disappointing that the polish doesn't last long because the colour is like nothing I have seen before.

Small haul!

Hey all :)

So I'm off to Germany on the 27th December this year with family and the past few weeks I've been researching German nail polish and cosmetics brands online. The 2 most popular brands I found were Catrice and Essence. I've been really looking forward to going over to Germany and trying out some of the products they have to offer.

I get 7 weeks (and 2 days!) off school now for summer and typical British weather, it's raining very heavily so instead of going to the beach to swim, I went shopping. I had some money saved up so I went to a makeup outlet store that I absolutely love. A while ago they were selling off Benefit eye shadows for £3.50!! Whenever I go into the store, I never come out empty handed and today was no different. I was so excited when I found a lot of German brand, Essence products being sold! Here's what I picked up...

From left to right: Very Berry, Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Claire's Accessories Matte Topcoat (not from the outlet store, I picked this up at Claire's), So Strong Nail Thickener, Metal Babe, Gothic Girl.

The first 3 polishes are from the Essence Jelly Baby trend collection that came out in March/April 2009.

The last 2 are from the Glam Rock trend collection that came out in November/December 2008.

Even though they are from old collections I'm still really pleased!

There was also a few other Essence bits & bobs being sold so I picked up an eyeshadow in Get Ready! and a Pocket Beauty perfume stick that I thought was kind of cool.

I'm looking forward to trying them out!

Claire's Cosmetics - Lilac

Hey :D

For me, the polishes from Claire's Accessories are quite hit and miss. I have a green that is very thin, a glitter top coat that just doesn't come out glittery and now this mid toned lilac creme that is very thick. Also, I've notied that the Claire's polishes from the US have specific shade names but the ones from the UK don't have shade names, wierd!

One coat would have been enouh but I used 2 coats to make it fully opaque. I'm quite happy with the drying time for this one and I love the high gloss finish.

The brush is very small compaired to regular nail polish brushes so if you have big hands, that might be a problem lol.

Revlon - Sheer Mauve

Hey :)

Revlon's Sheer Mauve creme polish is a very pretty pink colour with a lot of suttle, elegant shimmer. I really love it. The formula was quite thin and runny but other than that it was good. Dries reasonably quickly. It could be used as a 'mannequin hands' polish because it's gorgeous and almost matches my skin tone.

One coat was quite sheer. Two coats was better but there was still a VNL so I used 3 coats to even out the colour and make it opaque.

World Cup Spain nail design

Hello again ;D
So I said in a recent post I said that I have been watching the World Cup this year and from the start I have bee backing Spain so I am so happy that they got through to Sunday's final!

I did a nail design inspired by the flag and colours that I'm going to be wearing this weekend and I wanted to share it with you.

For my thumb I did the Spanish flag using a red by Barry M, yellow by George at Asda in Buttercup Shine and when it was all dry I went over it in George at Asda's Starry Eyed which is a clear polish with tiny grains of gold glitter, super pretty and elegant!

For my ring finger I used a long, thin nail art brush to create the small stripes.

Victoria Secret Beauty Rush - How Sweet!

Hey :)

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts! I've been painting my kitchen, bathroom, hall, stairs, front door and landing with my mum all week and any spare time I had, I was watching the World Cup with my football obsessed 7 year old brother. Football is totally new to me! I used to think it was boring and never used to watch it at all but I have been watching the World Cup and I love it! I loved yesterday's Spain vs Paraguay (Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso & David Villa = YUM <3) match and I'm looking forward to Spain vs Germany :D

Anyway... I got this polish while on vacation in Florida last December and it has been my favourite and most work polish since then. It's from the Victoria Secret Beauty Rush collection in shade How Sweet! A totally girly pink, love it.

Fantastic formula. If applied thickly, one coat would be enough to make it opaque but I didn't apply it that thick so I used 2 coats. I love the brush and the bottle looks really cute too.

I'd defiantly recommend these polishes to anyone. I have a metallic purple one from the range that I might try out next.

Hey :)

I was looking through my polishes and I wanted to see how many 'un branded/un named' polishes I had. It turned out I had quite a few. These are the kind of polishes that I don't use very often because I either think they will chip easily, be very sheer or will have a bad formula.

I think it's a waste if there just sitting around 'collecting dust' so I'm going to start swatching them to try them out. I'm really looking forward to trying the neon's :D

Just a quick question, does anyone in the UK know where I can buy a bottle or pure acetone? I have looked in Boots, Tesco and Asda but no luck as of yet. Please please please lmk if you know a place that sells it because I've been after it for some time.

LA Colours Colour Craze - Static Electricity

Hello girls :)

I recently got a nail polish by LA Colours Colour Craze in Static Electricity. These polishes are from the dollar store so I wasn't expecting much from them but I'm very surprised! The colours a mid tone dusty blue that I'm loving. Has a gloss finish that lasts about 2 days without clipping and on the 3rd day, there was a bit of tip wear but still no chips.

I used 2 coats because 1 coat was quite sheer. The topcoat I used was one by Collection 2000.

Have you tried any of the LA Colours polishes? What ones do you recommend?

Collection 2000 - Button Moon

Hey girlie's :)

My mani I have been wearing for the past few days is Button Moon by Collection 2000 Hot Looks. Definitely in my top 3 favourite polishes. I'm in love! Very fast drying (like the bottle says), quite thick, long lasting without chips/tip wear, easy to work with, good formula, high gloss finish and a gorgeous chalky light blue colour.

After 1 coat there was no streaks but the colour wasn't as opaque as I wanted. After 2 coats the colour was great but I used 3 coats (I really had no I idea why I used 3 when 2 coats would have been just fine, oh well!) The only 'problem' I have to say about this is that you have to wait for one coat to dry before adding another because otherwise the first coat will drag. You don't have to wait long thought because the polish is fast drying.

People have tipped this polish as a dupe for MAC's Peppermint Patti but looking at pictures they are totally different! Peppermint Patti is green when Button Moon is blue. Weird how people could think that when they are so different.

At under £2 a pop, there a fab deal. I'm going to be buying a few more colours from the range. What do you think? You can see the rest of the range on there website. but don't trust the pictures of shades on the website. Let's take Hoola Hoop for example, one picture of it is purple while the other is pink. Same with Hip Hop and a few others. I would check them out in stores to see the true colour if you were thinking of buying them!

Avon Nailwear Pro - Coral Beat

I have always liked Avon. My mum is an Avon representative so I am forever looking through the new brochures and ordering cosmetics. I love the bright tangerine orange colour polish in shade Coral Beat. It really reminds me of tropical vacations! I got this last summer but they have brought it back out again this summer along with a bright yellow and bright pink. As you can see from the pictures I have used a lot of this polish!

I love the formulation. It applies smoothly, evenly and quite thick. I used 2 coats to get an opaque and vibrant colour. I didn't use a top coat this time though and tip wear was visible after just 1 day.

Thanks to my mum for swatching this colour for me and I apologise for the light beams in the photos (it was very bright and sunny yesterday evening).

Orly - Charged Up

Sorry for not posting much lately, I've been kinda busy.

So I got Orly's Charged Up a while back now but I haven't worn it because it seemed too dark for summer. I was looking through my polishes and I just thought 'why not?!' and tried it out.

On first coat, I didn't know what to think of the formula. It seemed very runny and water like and it was quite sheer and had a few streaks. Also, the brush was so thin! After the second coat though, it completely evened out, seemed to have thickened and gave good colour payoff.

Charged Up is a medium bluish purple creme and after me thinking it would be too dark for summer, it wasn't. I also liked how it looked on my skin tone. I do really like this!

OPI - Clubbing Til Sunrise

Hey again ;D

I want to start of by saying how much I love this colour! It's nothing like I have every tried before and it's just so pretty. OPI's Clubbing Til' Sunrise is fantastic! A bronze that's more slightly on the orange side that shimmers gold in the light. It's beautiful! Application was great too. On one coat there was still a visible nail line but after two coats, it was opaque and very glossy. I don't think a third coat would be needed. Quite a thick formula, applied very smoothly and looks gorgeous.

This isn't one of the most popular OPI colours but it's defiantly recommended for summer nights.

Also, one quick question. What camera do you guys use to take pictures of your manis? I currently have the Fuji Fine Pix Z10fd. I got it for my birthday last year and at the time I was just using for taking general pictures and it was great for that but now I'm taking pictures of my manis, I need a camera with better focus. Do you have any recommendations? Not mega expensive ones though ;)

Cute nail design

Hey :D

Last night I sat down with my polish collection and just randomly grabbed 2 colours and just started painting, not knowing what design I was going to do and I came up with a cute but very simple little pattern.

• First, I painted half of my nail with shade Spangles (31) by Collection 2000 Hot Looks. A pigmented lime green.

• Once that dried, I painted the other half of my nail with a polish by the Primark's Glo Baby Glo! collection (nail polishes that glow under UV lighting) called Teal Or No Teal. Primark polishes are only £2 and they are fantastic!!

• When dried, I used my Rio Professionals Nail Art Pen in white and using the pin side of the pen, painted white dots going down where the 2 colours meet.

• When the look was complete and dry, I applied 2 layers of top coat.

I apologise again for the pictures. Mine is just not focusing properly at all so these are the best pics I could get. I hope there okay.

What do you think? Very simple but cute and affective.

Also, a very kind beauty blogger notified me that my comments weren't working on my blog posts. I have fixed that problem now ;)

Make Up Academy - Shade 4 (Coral)

Hey girlie's!

Hope your all having a great Friday. I've been painting my family's nails this afternoon... thanks to me, my 84 year old nan has now got hot pink nails!!

Have any of you heared about the new £1 makeup line at Superdrug called MUA (Make Up Academy)? I read about it in a magazine yesterday and I went straight to town to go and check out the range because any makeup that costs £1 in great in my books! I didn't get a lot of products because I didn't know what they were going to be like but I bought a lip gloss, lipstick, blusher and a nail polish. If you would like me to do reviews on the other products I bought please lmk.

Here's the swatches of the polish (shade 4). My camera wouldn’t focus properly close up so these are the best photos I could get (I was trying for an hour!). A bright coral colour that is slightly on the red side. Very pretty in the daylight. A great summer colour!

Formula was okay. No streaks but not very thick. I used 3 coats and if you look closely there’s still a little visible nail line. I’ve been wearing this polish for a day with a top coat and it is just starting to chip slightly on a few nails.

I’m going to get a few more products from the MUA brand because for £1 there well worth it! Not the best polish in the world, but that's expected because it’s so cheap.

Sinful Colours - Let Me Go

Hey :)

My mani today is probably the most gorgeous polish colour I have seen (but Zoya's Charla is VERY close second!) A light lilac base colour that shines gold, silver, turquoise, blue, emerald and pink in different lighting. The polish really reminds me of a mermaid! Very very pretty.

Easy to apply, formula was good. Very sheer with the first coat and because I like my polish to be opaque, I used 4 coats.

Pictures are taken with no flash, in daylight. Please excuse the dents in the polish, the past few days I haven't had the patience to let the polish dry properly :S

Sinful Colours are a US brand but if you're in the UK you can buy there products online at the Sinful Colors UK website.

China Glaze - Peachy Keen

Love this colour! Such a fresh, stylish summer colour. China Glaze's Peachy Keen is my one of my favourite colour from my polish collection.

PICTURE: With flash

The formula of this polish is different than the other polishes in the Up and Away collection. It's better, so that's good in my books. Still a bit streaky but not as much as Re-Fresh Mint. 2 coats make the polish opaque. It still chips very easily, even with a top coat and for the first time EVER, I have experienced nail polish peeling :( Not just a little peel here and there, but the whole layer of polish coming off! I'm going to be experimenting with ways to stop that from happening again!

China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint

Hello!

Today I'm posting a review and swatches of the polish Re-Fresh Mint by the well known and well loves company China Glaze. I've heared so many great things about China Glaze from girls around the globe so I was expecting great things. I'm sad to say that I'm not very impressed with this polish.

PICTURE: WITHOUT FLASH

I didn't like the formula that much, I think it was kinda gloppy. It didn't apply evenly and left alot of streaks and a few bald patches. After 2 coats, it evened out but there was still a bit of baldness on 2 nails. I used the Collection 2000 topcoat and despite that, after only 1 day, the polish has alot of dents on near enough every nail and had rather big chips.

I really wanted to love this because the colour is gorgeous but unfortunately, I didn't. I just hope that this formula is a 'one off' and I will love my other CG's.

Re-Fresh Mint looks like a dupe for Essie's Mint Candy Apple in the bottle so I'm going to be comparing them soon and hopefully Essie's will be the same colour, but a better formula.

Zoya Midori

Hello there :D

I'm so excited to tell you that I got my first Zoya polish! I love it! I'm definatley going to be looking into the brand more and making more orders. Gorgeous colours, fantastic application and the bottle looks so elegant and pretty.

I have Midori. I chose this as it's such a pretty colour and green nail polishes are a huge spring and summer trend. The polish has very suttle shimmer that looks super pretty in the day light.

I've been wearing this polish for 2 days and I have had so many compliments on the colour! I used the Collection 2000 topcoat and 2 coats of Midori and the polish hasn't started chipping yet wich is great.

Application was fantastic, very thick, no streaks at all, no bubbles. The brush was very good and easy to use too.

Please let me know what your favoruite Zoya colours are as I would love to give them a try!

Wet N Wild - Lavender Creme

Hey!

How is everyone on this Monday evening?

I'm actually quite excited about this polish that I just applied! It's by Wet N Wild and in the shade Lavender Creme. Wet N Wild polishes are avalible at an amazing price of 99c (USD) and I got mine from Walgreens when I was in Florida on vacation last December. I'm not sure where you can get them here in the UK but you could proberbly find an online store that sells them or take a look on eBay if your interested.

As some of you might know, pink is my favourite colour of ALL time so I have quite a few different shades of pink in my collection. This one though is my favourite as I love the colour so much! It's a very very hot, Barbie pink... Love it!!

1 coat would have been enough but because I loved the colour so much, I wanted to add another coat to make the colour more brighter and stand out more. I used the Collection 2000 topcoat that I absolutley love. The picture is without flash.

Application was fantastic. Very thick and creamy formular (my favourite) and had a glossy finish. I would definatley recomend these polishes to anyone.

I'm definatley going to be looking into the brand more carefully and seeing what other shades they have.

Nails Inc - Paris

Hey!

As promised, here's my swatch and review on the limited edition Nails Inc. polish in Paris that I got free with the Diet Coke promotion. If you want more information on the Nails Inc. for Diet Coke offer, see my previous post.

I applied this last night and somehow, I managed to spill nail polish remover all over my bed, but lets not go into details about that lol!

The picture doesn't show the real colour of the polish. In real life, it's more darker, more of a plum colour.

Application was great! Very smooth, streak-free, no bubbles and dried extremely quickly. One coat would have been enough but I wanted to use 2 coats, just for a brighter colour.

I totally forgot to apply a topcoat this time and the polish has just started chipping ever so slightly on the top of 5 of my nails so if you don't use a topcoat, this is something you should keep in mind.

To buy the Nails Inc. polishes regularly, they cost £10.50. Expensive for a nail polish but I think there worth it if I'm honest. The range of colours the company has is very good and the application makes the money well spent!

Number 17 Candy Collection..

Hey girlies!

Today I'm going to be reviewing 3 of the polishes from the new Number 17 Candy Collection. I'm also using another 17 polish that's not from the collection.

There are 5 polishes in the collection all together and theres also a range of eyeshadows, blushes and lipglosses.

From left: Sherbet Lemon, Pink Lemonade (NOT from the collection), Parma Voilet, Orange Soda.

The formular of the Candy Collection polishes are much thicker than the regular 17 Lasing Fix ones.

On the first coat, it was very streaky and uneven. I applied about 3/4 coats of each colour and. The colours are very on trend for Spring and Summer.

All good things to say about these appart from 1 little thing. I hate the formular of the Sherbet Lemon one! Its gloopy, hard to apply and no matter how carefully I apply this colour, it still produces bubbles on the nail :(

Other than that, there really good polishes. I love the colours and I'm definatley going to be buying the other 2 polishes from the cllection (Mint Choc Chip, Fairy Cake).

They cost £2.99 for 8ml from any Boots store.

My first OPI polish!

Hope you have all had a good day, I have..

Im so excited to share that I got my first OPI Nail Lacqure. I'm totally in love with it! I got the shade Tickle My France-y.

I used 3 coats because I wanted more of a bolder colour. It's a lovely neutral colour, great for spring time. Easy, smooth application. It has a lovely glossy finish and it dries quite quickly. It doesn't go that well with my skintone but I like it ;)

It's definatley recomended this as it's a pretty colour and it's a great formular.

Water Melon Nail Tutorial..

Hey girlies :D

Today I'm going to show you a fun, flirty water melon design for you'r nails. It's great for summer and it's super easy to do!

Before I started I applied the Sinful Colours Base Coat.

First I applied a medium pink colour. The one I used is just a cheap one by Jeff & Maggie. It has a bit of shimmer to it and I think a bit of shimmer makes the look a bit more 'summerfied' lol! This is 3 coats..

Next I painted my nail tips in green. I used a polish by Claire's Accessories.

Next I used my Professional Nail Art polish by Rio. I definatley recomend these polishes because if you are into doing nail art they come in very useful! They have a very thin brush one side and a pen on the other. I might do a review on these pretty soon. I used the white one to draw a thin line directly underneath my green tips.

The I used my pen side of the Professional Nail Art polish in black to create little dots on the pink section of the nail.

Leave to dry for about 20 minutes to stop the colours bleeding together then apply a top coat. I used the top coat by Sinful Colours.

NYX polish review..

Hey :D

Today Im going to be reviewing the NYX nail polish in rainbow sparkle. As NYX is an American cosmetic company, I didnt think you could get NYX in the UK. One day I was out shopping and I went into a little cosmetic store that I've never heared of or seen before. To my surprise they were selling NYX cosmetics. I got super excited because I'd never tried anything from the brand before so I bought a blush and a few polishes. The picture has 2 coats.

Out of the bunch of polish I bought on that day, this has to be the most vibrant and 'out there' polish of the lot! I tend to stick to neutral and pastel nail polish colours so this is a big change for me. I love this polish though! It was £3.99 and for the quality of the polish, thats a good price. Most glitter polishes you buy are very gloopy and when you apply, big huge clumps of glitter just 'explode' all over your nail. Not this one though! It's very easy to apply and the glitter spreads evenly over your nail without streaks and bubbles. If your looking for more of a sheer colour you will only need 1 coat of this but if you want more of a vibrant colour, 2 coats will be just fine. In the sun/daylight the colour is illuminous and very glittery. I found that instead of spreading the polish like you do with any other regular colour, it works best if you kind of dab the polish onto your nail, dotting it around the place evenly. It seems to give more of a even colour and makes it more thicker that way. I love the bottle shape and the brush is easy to use and hold.

I used the Sinful Colours Professionals base and top coat.

This is my first post on here! I am really looking forward to blogging and sharing my love for makeup and nailpolishes with you all.
This is just a quick post telling you a little bit about me....

My name's Paige, Im 13 years old and Im from the UK. I love all things girly (the colour pink, sun, makeup, nail polishes, fashion, shopping, chocolate, diamonds, glitter, puppies..) I have a pet rabbit and 2 fish. Hopefully I will be getting a chiwahwah or a pomeranian soon because I have wanted a little teacup dog for SOOO long now! I am obsessed with anything Hello Kitty, Disney and Barbie lol. I have enough makeup and nail polish to last me 3 lifetimes and I love it... IM OBSESSED!!

This blog is going to have makeup, nail polish and skin products reviews aswell as some nail art tutorials and beauty tips and tricks.
