Avon Nailwear Pro - Coral Beat

I have always liked Avon. My mum is an Avon representative so I am forever looking through the new brochures and ordering cosmetics. I love the bright tangerine orange colour polish in shade Coral Beat. It really reminds me of tropical vacations! I got this last summer but they have brought it back out again this summer along with a bright yellow and bright pink. As you can see from the pictures I have used a lot of this polish!

I love the formulation. It applies smoothly, evenly and quite thick. I used 2 coats to get an opaque and vibrant colour. I didn't use a top coat this time though and tip wear was visible after just 1 day.

Thanks to my mum for swatching this colour for me and I apologise for the light beams in the photos (it was very bright and sunny yesterday evening).

Orly - Charged Up

Hey :D

Sorry for not posting much lately, I've been kinda busy.

So I got Orly's Charged Up a while back now but I haven't worn it because it seemed too dark for summer. I was looking through my polishes and I just thought 'why not?!' and tried it out.

On first coat, I didn't know what to think of the formula. It seemed very runny and water like and it was quite sheer and had a few streaks. Also, the brush was so thin! After the second coat though, it completely evened out, seemed to have thickened and gave good colour payoff.

Charged Up is a medium bluish purple creme and after me thinking it would be too dark for summer, it wasn't. I also liked how it looked on my skin tone. I do really like this!

OPI - Clubbing Til Sunrise

Hey again ;D

I want to start of by saying how much I love this colour! It's nothing like I have every tried before and it's just so pretty. OPI's Clubbing Til' Sunrise is fantastic! A bronze that's more slightly on the orange side that shimmers gold in the light. It's beautiful! Application was great too. On one coat there was still a visible nail line but after two coats, it was opaque and very glossy. I don't think a third coat would be needed. Quite a thick formula, applied very smoothly and looks gorgeous.

This isn't one of the most popular OPI colours but it's defiantly recommended for summer nights.

Also, one quick question. What camera do you guys use to take pictures of your manis? I currently have the Fuji Fine Pix Z10fd. I got it for my birthday last year and at the time I was just using for taking general pictures and it was great for that but now I'm taking pictures of my manis, I need a camera with better focus. Do you have any recommendations? Not mega expensive ones though ;)

Cute nail design

Hey :D

Last night I sat down with my polish collection and just randomly grabbed 2 colours and just started painting, not knowing what design I was going to do and I came up with a cute but very simple little pattern.

• First, I painted half of my nail with shade Spangles (31) by Collection 2000 Hot Looks. A pigmented lime green.

• Once that dried, I painted the other half of my nail with a polish by the Primark's Glo Baby Glo! collection (nail polishes that glow under UV lighting) called Teal Or No Teal. Primark polishes are only £2 and they are fantastic!!

• When dried, I used my Rio Professionals Nail Art Pen in white and using the pin side of the pen, painted white dots going down where the 2 colours meet.

• When the look was complete and dry, I applied 2 layers of top coat.

I apologise again for the pictures. Mine is just not focusing properly at all so these are the best pics I could get. I hope there okay.

What do you think? Very simple but cute and affective.

Make Up Academy - Shade 4 (Coral)

Hey girlie's!

Hope your all having a great Friday. I've been painting my family's nails this afternoon... thanks to me, my 84 year old nan has now got hot pink nails!!

Have any of you heared about the new £1 makeup line at Superdrug called MUA (Make Up Academy)? I read about it in a magazine yesterday and I went straight to town to go and check out the range because any makeup that costs £1 in great in my books! I didn't get a lot of products because I didn't know what they were going to be like but I bought a lip gloss, lipstick, blusher and a nail polish. If you would like me to do reviews on the other products I bought please lmk.

Here's the swatches of the polish (shade 4). My camera wouldn’t focus properly close up so these are the best photos I could get (I was trying for an hour!). A bright coral colour that is slightly on the red side. Very pretty in the daylight. A great summer colour!

Formula was okay. No streaks but not very thick. I used 3 coats and if you look closely there’s still a little visible nail line. I’ve been wearing this polish for a day with a top coat and it is just starting to chip slightly on a few nails.

I’m going to get a few more products from the MUA brand because for £1 there well worth it! Not the best polish in the world, but that's expected because it’s so cheap.

Sinful Colours - Let Me Go

Hey :)

My mani today is probably the most gorgeous polish colour I have seen (but Zoya's Charla is VERY close second!) A light lilac base colour that shines gold, silver, turquoise, blue, emerald and pink in different lighting. The polish really reminds me of a mermaid! Very very pretty.

Easy to apply, formula was good. Very sheer with the first coat and because I like my polish to be opaque, I used 4 coats.

Pictures are taken with no flash, in daylight. Please excuse the dents in the polish, the past few days I haven't had the patience to let the polish dry properly :S
